Inchcape: Reliable spare parts logistics

Inchcape is responsible for the import of Jaguar, Land Rover, and Mazda vehicles in Finland and the Baltic region. The company seeks a logistics partner that can provide reliability in spare parts logistics.

HUB logistics manages Inchcape’s spare parts logistics and warehousing services at the Vantaa logistics center. The service includes receiving materials, warehousing, order picking, and shipping at the Hakkila logistics center. The partnership began in spring 2023.

HUB logistics designed a service package tailored to Inchcape’s needs. At the core of the service are critical spare parts solutions with rapid response times and a high-quality, comprehensive service approach that will support the customer well into the future.

– Today’s supply chain challenges cause delays, making speed, reliability, and certainty in local operations crucial. We see HUB logistics’ investment in automation warehousing as a benefit to our operations—one that our customers will also appreciate, says Aftermarket Manager Pekka Laukkanen.

– In recent years, we’ve made many changes in our spare parts logistics. One major shift has been transitioning to a new enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. HUB played a significant role in this process, providing valuable input on how development should proceed to make our collaboration as simple and efficient as possible, Laukkanen continues.

According to Laukkanen, the combination of traditional and modern warehousing has proven to be an effective solution for Inchcape.

– Traditional warehousing includes pallet racks designed for challenging parts such as windshields, body panels, fenders, and other heavy components. Meanwhile, modern automation manages over half of our stored products.

Laukkanen highlights HUB’s strong ability and willingness to adapt to customer needs.

– Customer focus has been evident at HUB logistics from the very beginning. They listen to our requests and actively suggest improvements to enhance business efficiency, particularly from a cost-effectiveness perspective, he summarizes.
