HUB logistics and Päijät-Häme welfare municipality association have agreed on the continuation of the cooperation. The new agreement brings a continuation of the cooperation that started in 2020.
The cooperation between HUB logistics and the Päijät-Häme welfare municipality association is unique in Finland, as the Päijät-Häme welfare municipality association is the first public producer of social and health services that has outsourced part of its logistics operations to the private sector.
HUB logistics provides logistics services for the Päijät-Häme welfare municipality association at Lahti Central Hospital. The entirety of logistics services covers the welfare municipality’s warehouse operations, internal logistics services, and distribution and shelving operations to offices in Lahti and the province.
The current operations will change in terms of central storage. The central storage will move from the hospital’s premises to an external warehouse operated by HUB logistics, thus freeing up the premises tied to storage for other uses of the hospital.
HUB Logistics’ Business Director Mikko Heinilä is happy about the continued cooperation and HUB’s opportunity to produce internal logistics services in the municipal sector:
– During the first contract period of our cooperation, we have created an excellent foundation for hospital logistics by developing storage processes and introducing modern tools to storage. From now on, we will seek even stronger development and look at warehousing and internal logistics operations from a development perspective. In accordance with our operating principles, we are committed to comprehensively develop the logistics functions of the Päijät-Häme welfare municipality association.
