At HUB, we have long invested in employee wellbeing and have worked consistently to ensure that our workplace is a great place to be. A healthy workforce is the foundation of efficient and effective logistics, which is why employee satisfaction is extremely important to us. We strive for smooth daily operations by improving processes and recognizing our colleagues through the Employee of the Month awards.

Our annual employee survey serves as a crucial guide in the development of our organization. It provides valuable insights into how our work environment and practices are evolving and highlights areas that require our special attention. The overall index examined in the survey has shown great progress over the last three years. Earlier this year we received the recognition of “Finland’s Most Inspiring Workplaces” from our service provider. This is an especially proud achievement, and we are genuinely excited about it.

In addition to the employee survey, we also conduct pulse surveys. For example, we carried out a survey to gather insights from employees at three different locations on what makes a good work community, what qualities are appreciated in a good colleague, and how workplace wellbeing could be concretely improved. The information gathered from these surveys complements the data from the annual employee survey and helps us better understand how we can further improve our work environment. Based on the feedback, we’ve organized activities such as a frisbee golf tournament for employee recreation and implemented a company-wide wellness fund that employees can use to support wellbeing-related activities. Additionally, unit-specific actions have been refined to address themes that are considered important in each unit.

The title of Finland’s Most Inspiring Workplace by Eezy Flow is a result of our company’s continuous efforts to develop and strengthen our work culture and the dedication of our staff.

Smooth daily work and Employees of the month

In my opinion, one of the key themes in workplace wellbeing is the smoothness of daily work. When the day-to-day tasks flow without unnecessary obstacles, stress levels decrease, and employees can focus on what matters. We strive for this by ensuring that tools and processes are in place and support the work being done. We listen to our employees closely and continuously work to improve our practices so that the daily routine runs as smoothly as possible.

In addition to having proper tools and processes, it is equally important that interpersonal interaction is well-functioning. We strongly believe that a good work community is built on communication, mutual respect and feedback.

For over three years, we have been awarding the “Employee of the Month” recognition to individuals who inspire others, set an exemplary standard or create a positive atmosphere at work. Employees have the opportunity to nominate a colleague they feel deserves recognition. Each person can define for themselves what makes their colleague special, whether it’s the quality of work, attitude, or helpfulness. This practice has been well-received, and it has helped foster a positive vibe and strengthen team spirit within the workplace. A thank-you and positive feedback from a colleague can leave a lasting positive impact.

Employees of the Month have been recognized for a variety of reasons, but a few recurring themes are positivity, encouraging others, helping out, bringing good energy to the workplace, flexibility, and humor. Employee engagement as part of our strategy

All the surveys and recognition mechanisms we use are part of a broader strategy to develop our work community. They provide us with valuable information on what works well and where we can improve, while also strengthening the sense of community and increasing openness in the workplace.

We want to create a work environment where everyone feels good and is an important part of the team. It’s important to us that the workplace maintains a positive and encouraging atmosphere, where employees are mindful of one another and provide feedback. This is not just a company strategy, but a value that is reflected in everyday moments.
